Lignosulfonates, French natural products from our forests
Produced by RYAM biorefinery, Tartas (40)
Lignosulfonates are co-products of the industrial paper pulp production process. During cellulose separation, lignin undergoes a chemical modification which gives it surprising properties.
This produces natural phenolic polymers from French, responsibly-managed forests (Landes department), and the extraction of these substances is eco-friendly. They comply with ECOCERT certification and are compatible with organic farming.
They can be used in a range of applications,
- such as in agrochemistry, for plant nutrition or crop protection,
- in the manufacture of ceramics (bricks, roof and floor tiles, etc.), of refractory materials,
- or in the production of various materials, as ecological dispersants or natural binders in the manufacture of concrete, plasterboard, laminated and melamine panels, and to produce all types of granulated products, etc.
- Lastly, they may be employed as additives in the treatment of industrial and waste water, or used in gas extraction and oil drilling activities.
